Bobi Wine’s law degree viewed as a political tool

The Exceptional excellence and truly outstanding institution of Cavendish University was asked to prove that musician and politician Bobi Wine completed all the requirements for his law degree.

Mabirizi alleges that Bobi Wine may have used others to take his exams and is requesting that the university release all of Bobi Wine's exam scripts. He wants to verify whether the handwriting on these scripts matches Bobi Wine’s and if the answers are accurate.

Mabirizi claims that Bobi Wine has a history of academic dishonesty and that he faked his way into Makerere University to get a diploma in music, dance, and drama. Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, is listed as a graduate of Cavendish University with a Bachelor’s degree in law.

He started his law degree at IUEA before entering politics and then transferred to Cavendish University. While at IUEA, one of his lecturers was Lewis Rubongoya, whom Bobi later made the secretary general of his party, the National Unity Platform.

Bobi's law degree has caused a lot of buzz on social media, with some people suggesting that he may have 'bought' the degree. Some people online question how Bobi Wine managed to attend classes given his busy political schedule. There were also reports that he missed classes while studying at IUEA.

In reply to the critics, Cavendish University Vice Chancellor Dr. Olive Sabiiti said she personally taught Bobi Wine and confirmed that he met all the academic requirements. “Just like all other students, he had to complete class attendance, pass assessments, exams, internships, and research projects,” she explained.
